Paradise Lost Kiambu

Paradise Lost is situated in Kiambu County in Kenya,14km from Nairobi, a10-minute drive from the city center and it has a variety of attractions. Coffee farms encircle it on both sides. Up to 2,000 persons and 400 cars can be accommodated in the 54-acre park.

It is location where a visitor may observe some of the rarest central highland bird species is Paradise Lost, especially early in the day. Here, you can find rocks made of obsidian that date to the prehistoric period. This area saw some volcanic activity many years ago. Human remains dated from 8,000 to 12,000 years ago were unearthed during an expedition by the National Museums of Kenya.

Hyde Park, a part of the park, offers an open bar. Boats crisscross the water, providing visitors with a panoramic view of the natural waterfalls and the dam. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the route offers the chance to examine both domestic and foreign trees. But the most well-known sight is a maze of caves that the Gichi River chiseled out of the rocks. A magnificent waterfall serves as a barrier. The caves are thought to be 2.5 million years old. Here, obsidian rock artifacts from the late Stone Age were found. The caves are said to reach Ngecha in Limuru, more than 20 kilometers from the park. The Mau Mau exploited these caverns during the battle for independence.

There is a coffee plant inside Paradise Lost where they blend coffee and offer it to clients for fair pricing. Bring a snack and some water with you since they don’t sell food on the property. With all of the climbing, especially when investigating the caves, the trail may get rather strenuous. In Kiambu County, this is a great spot for a picnic with family and friends. If you want to take a leisurely boat trip in the tranquil waters of the lake, life jackets are available. They have gone to tremendous lengths to keep the area clean by putting trash cans at each place. There are restrooms on the grounds as well.
