Mambrui Sand Dunes in Malindi is a hidden gem with breathtaking white dunes. It is only 21 minutes from Malindi International Airport, 6 km from Malindi town.
The Mambrui Sand Dunes are located between the mouth of the Sabaki River in the south and Ngomeni in the northeast. Visitors find the tall, tidy features enticing as they embrace the water. Mambrui is renowned for its stunning, unspoiled dunes in addition to its historical and archaeological significance. Kola Beach, often called the “golden beach” of the area because of the presence of dunes along the shore, is located in Mambrui. At sunset, the stunning dunes, which nearly reach the sea, are especially striking.
From afar, the dunes appear to be striped in a blend of black and fawn, while the sand is glistening gold. The sand here is extremely thin and is frequently blown by the wind, almost like in a desert, in contrast to other beaches in the south and Mombasa sides.
You will be treated to breathtaking, nearly limitless views of the dunes. You may shoot amazing photos here if you have a drone. After hiking on the sand, you can cool off at the beach, which is reached by way of the dunes. The one drawback is that there isn’t a place to get refreshments close by, so if you intend to spend more than an hour, you will need to bring your own. Spend some time here with your loved ones, friends, and family to take in the splendor of the dunes.
