kongo river Canoe sunset cruise

2 Hours

Flowing from Shimba Hills, the Kongo River forms an estuary as it enters the Indian Ocean. Slowly cruise upstream on a traditional dugout canoe as you birdwatch among the mangroves and enjoy the serene surroundings.

We pick you up at your beach hotel and drive to the Kongo River, stopping at the oldest mosque on the coast. You will then sail through mangroves and palm trees in a sailing canoe. This is a great trip for bird lovers and birdwatchers. You will sail down the Kongo River, watching the beautiful sunset, leaving the ocean behind, and getting to experience the beautiful Kongo River estuary, the ever-changing sandy beach, and the big waves.
The canoe is powered by the captain, which means no engines and no dirty fumes in the water. Please feel free to ask the captain any questions you may have about the area.
