Day Tour To Funzi Island: A short distance from Bodo Village is Funzi, one of the South Coast Islands of Kenya. For fantastic sights, this is the ideal option for day tours and sunset cruises along the Ramisi River and the mangrove forest. Funzi Island’s endangered sea turtle population is a major draw for Kenya due to the island’s isolation, which helps the turtles survive.
The sandbanks are a great place for visitors to spend the day swimming and tanning during low tide, but when high tide returns, the fun is over.

Day tour to Funzi Island itinerary
The journey departs from Mombasa or Diani Beach and lasts for around five to six hours. At 7.30 am, depart from Diani Beach and go through Shirazi Village to Bodo. Bodo is roughly a 40-minute drive away, where a boat is waiting to take you on an incredible adventure. The day starts with a motorized canoe ride along the Ramisi River, which is home to a diverse array of birds and occasionally, crocodiles. Make sure you’re in the most picturesque location on the coast for swimming and enjoying this small slice of heaven by stopping on the sandbank.
We go to the Funzi Restaurant after, for those who would like, a visit to the settlement on Funzi Island. Try our seafood delicacies, which include grilled fish, crab, coconut rice, and chicken or beef on our non-seafood menus. On request, vegetarian meals can also be served. Take a leisurely break for however long you’d like, then take a boat back to the mainland. Return to your hotel after the transfer.
