The Nairobi to Suswa Madaraka Express Train connects Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, and Suswa, a town in Narok County. The railway line was formally inaugurated in October 2019 and is roughly 120 kilometers long. The little settlement of Suswa is close to Narok. The Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) allows you to explore the little-known town at a reasonable cost.
Suswa is a great place for couples, friends, solo travelers, and children to spend a weekend. This travel takes an SGR train that is boarded in Syokimau or Ngong, in contrast to other road trips. After passing Nairobi National Park, where you can observe the park’s animals from above, the SGR train travels through the well-known three tunnels. With an approximate speed of 80 km/h, the longest is five minutes, followed by two minutes and one minute.

The Madaraka Express Passenger Service train is currently available to the stations of Ongata Rongai, Ngong, Maai Mahiu, and Suswa. In terms of supporting infrastructure, Mai Mahiu Station is in poor condition. The road from the station to the main road is awful, there is only one store, no cabs, and there aren’t many boda bodas. Therefore, if you are planning on alighting from here, then you better make proper advance arrangements for matters of transport.Â
