The Tsavo West National Park has an area of 9,065 square kilometers and is located in the counties of Taita Taveta and Makueni. It is Kenya’s second-largest park. Tsavo West National Park is more mountainous and wet than Tsavo East, and it includes marshes, Lake Jipe, and the Mzima Springs.The Park is a stunning, rocky environment, with fifty million gallons of crystal pure water streaming out of the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows. The savannah habitat includes wide grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woods, as well as belts of riverine vegetation and rocky heights like as the Poacher’s Lookout, from where tourists may observe the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West has some of the best game viewing in the world.
Tsavo West National Park is increasingly popular because of its visual splendor, which is distinguished by a diverse range of vegetation. The park is adjacent to the large animal ranches where Black and White Rhinos can be found. The park is made up of wide savannah grassland interspersed with Acacia forests, scrublands, rocky ridges, and riverine flora. It is home to all African big animals, including the African big five, which include Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Rhinos, and the shy Leopards. Giraffes, Zebras, Hyenas, Cheetahs, Maasai Giraffes, Hippos, Crocodiles, Gerenuk, Lesser Kudu, Waterbucks, Wildebeests, and other large game can also be seen in the park. The parks also have a large number of bird species, including uncommon birds such the Corncrake, Basra reed warbler, secretary bird, and others.
